    Musings: Never Did I Imagine

If you ever find yourself in a situationship… RUN! Okay, I’m not here to tell you what to do with yourself or your emotions, feelings, or heart. Buuuuttt… Never did I think I’d find myself in a situationship, let alone ending it for a second time. Probably more than that, if we are being technical. First, I would be remiss if I didn’t own up to my own shit. Post 4.5 year relationship, I’ve had some stuff to work through. And I have. And I still have more work to do. I thank therapy (and amazing friends) for being equipped with so many tools for my mental health, self-worth/love, and…

City Girl Hikes: Gates Canyon – Vacaville, CA

Sometimes you sign up for a hike knowing its gonna be rough… I hike for the variety in my workouts, but the views and scenery are usually picturesque. Which obviously means I have some good IG content. I’ve enjoyed sharing my solo hiking adventures since it was a goal I accomplished. But, since hiking lends itself well to social distancing, I’ve had friends share an interest in joining me. And if you know me, you know I love doing things with friends (versus solo). All that being said, Ambriss joined me for the Gates Canyon hike. We knew it was an out and back, which included all up-hill out and…

Race Recap: lululemon San Diego 10k

Only lululemon could get me on a plane to run a 10k. So pardon the delay on this race recap, but I’m glad I’m getting to it before the year ends. 2019 was supposed to ONLY be the Giant Race series, but once I received the email about this race, I knew I had to at least think about it. It definitely prompted a text to my running friend, Tara. Actually, I threw the idea of running the race as a girl’s trip to a couple of people. In the end, it was Tara and I who would make it a girl’s weekend, which was totally great for me. We’d…

    Musings: Speed Dating

Speed dating isn’t just for RomComs. It’s real. It’s a thing. And I did it… …with two friends of course. I’d been having different convos with different friends about the same topic over the last couple of months. All of us interested in trying it out, for the sake of trying it. Finally, Kristen did a little leg work and signed us up with My Cheeky Date. Their website looks legit. We paid our money and got our Eventbrite tickets and waited for the day to arrive. We met at my casa and shared a bottle of wine and laughs before we headed out to the event. None of us…

Cali Girl Does San Diego: Girls Long Weekend

Four days in sunny SD bliss! Lil had to head down to SD for a wedding, so she asked if I wanted to make a fun weekend out of it. Uh, yeah, duh! Then I invited Monique too, so it became round two of our Disneyland trip in March for my birthday. I crowdsourced FB for recommendations and everyone came in clutch. I saved all the reccos in my Yelp Stay Classy SD collection of places to visit, things to do, and places to eat! I thought I’d share what and where we ate but also places we visited: Snooze, An A.M. Eatery – breakfast pot pie and coffeeSan Diego…

    Musings: Home Sweet Casa

Mi casa es tu casa. Well, kinda. There just isn’t much room for you to sit. Unless you’re okay with hanging out like kids. And by that, I mean sitting on my bed! HAHA Earlier this year I started looking for a new place. My time with the Guidette was transformative, to say the least, but it was time to find somewhere new to live. I fell in love with the first place I saw. I know, I know — don’t settle for the first thing you see (or date for that matter HAHA). I saw one more studio and I was still smitten with the original one I saw.…

    Musings: Nourish

A full day of wellness you say… Sure, sign me up. Thanks to Erica, of Fit Crawl, I was gifted a ticket for myself and Ambriss to attend the inaugural Nourish wellness event in Sacramento, CA. Two women, Amber Rosen & Sarah Stebbins, created Nourish to ‘…empower you with the knowledge and tools to support your wellbeing on a consistent, daily basis.’ From what I remember from the event, they met less than a year ago, where the idea for Nourish was started. Since then, they’ve developed a wellness brand that is based on the elements of her: body soul wealth community You already know I’m a little snarky, even…

    Musings: My First Disneyland Birthday

It only took me 36 years… Thanks, parentals 😉 HAHA, JK, I’m totally kidding. I am so beyond blessed and spoiled by my parents, this is TOTALLY a joke! But, now I know why we generally didn’t go to Disneyland for my birthday. March in Anaheim is sketchy. Like, are you going to dump buckets or are you going to be warm and sunny? The week before we left I was looking at the weather app each day, possibly multiple times a day. All I kept seeing was the rain emoji for Sunday and cloudy for Monday. Nothing I could do about it, except for plan my outfits accordingly. Months…

    Musings: Clothing Optional

That’s just the kind of Ride or Dies we are! We’ll kinda. HAHA! Instead of gifts, we chose adventures. Gifts are great, but after over a decade of friendship, we’ve gotten each other most of the good stuff already. So, instead, we chose to spend time doing fun things AND usually eating too! 2018 would be no different, in a couple of ways. We knew there would be adventure AND it would be planned after the new year. While December is ideal, it really isn’t with holidays, work functions, and being busy in general. So, we opted for January when most events and obligations die down and our schedules align.…

    Musings: Full Moon Hike #OptOutside

Freezing bliss for a moonlit hike adventure. Are you a fan of co-ops? I am. Have been since I’ve worked at one and regularly shop at one. It made sends to become one with REI too. I didn’t even realize they were a co-op until more recently. And, you only have to pay $20 to be a member AND they give you a $20 gift card in return…you just have to wait one day to use it. It’s a win-win for everyone. All that being said, I’ve always swooned over thier #OptOutside campaing during Black Friday. But it seems as if they have extended past just that day and it…
