Diary of a Non-Cook: The EASIEST Appetizer Ever

Well Christmas came and went like a whirlwind. And as per the usu, I was tasked with an appetizer for our big celebration. I really should ask for dessert, since I can never get there on time. But, it makes the suspense that much more exciting for everyone 😉 Happily, I was done with most of my Christmas stuff a week or so-ish before the big day. Little things here and there, but nothing like the last few years of stress and more stress. Easy and light, just how the holidays should be. But I didn’t really feel like making an extravagant appetizer, so I ran to Pinterest and found…

    Diary of a Non-Cook(ie) Party

Another December, another yearly tradition. I introduced you to our Cookie Party tradition in 2016, but Lil and I have been attending it for over two decades. It’s been going on for three to four decades, from what I’m told. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise that it happened again this year.  I wanted to make something, but the party landed on a very busy weekend. The night before, the Guidette and I hosted our holiday party. I knew we’d be up late and tired from all the shenannegins of throwing a party. To be fair, I didn’t do much, she did most of it. I was just there co-hosting,…

    Musings: My Claim to Fame

I’m like, kinda Insta-famous… Totally kidding. However, this day in age, when a brand reposts, or even comments on your social, it tends to mean something to some. Some people could give a rats ass about this stuff. I can appreciate that. Then you have those, like myself, who enjoy the sentiment from a brand. This could be becuase this is also my line of work. Or part narcassim, or part (social media) culture. Anywho, I staged a fun pizza pic after the madness of our December Girls Night had died down. There was a plethora of chaotic kid-ness going on and I patiently waited to take my staged photo…

    Annual Cookie Party

Established in 1987. So, I can’t really take credit for this cool, annual event…but I’ve been in attendance for a pretty damn long time. Technically she’s my 2nd cousin, but she feels more like an older sister. We call her Joy, but she goes by Clem to those who went to school with her. It is her and her group of girlfriends who took Lil and I in and let us be a part of their holiday FUNstivities since we were really little.   From gallivanting up to Apple Hill to cut down Christmas trees to the annual cookie party, these women have been in our lives for a long…

    …and Like That It’s Over!

Christmas has come and gone… …just like that. If you remember correctly, I was trying to find my Christmas spirit on Christmas Eve. Shortly after I wrote/posted that, it started to sink in and magically I began to start feeling more in the spirit. Maybe it was just saying it out loud (well, really writing it) that made snap out of it. Maybe the super relaxing pedicure that was pure bliss also helped. But by Christmas Eve I was in the full Christmas spirit and ready for all the celebrations ahead. Christmas Eve w/ J’s family. This long weekend was exactly what I needed. Family time. Family time. Friend time. Lets just say 3.5 days was not…

    Rose & Thorn [27]

Adios November… Rose: Giving thanks, family, and friends… Thorn: Damn head cold…part deux! So, since I generally start my weekend when I get out of work, this post should start from Wednesday at noon until yesterday evening. Buuuut, this would be the longest blog post ever to be written so I’ll try to keep it short and simple, even picture based for ya’ll! WEDNESDAY Errands, errands, errands. A quick solo lunch, cause J as stuck at home sick. Packet pick-up for the annual Thanksgiving day run and then home to chill for a second. J accompanied AND paid for my pedicure – I won a bet in January (yes, 10…

    Musings: Shhhh…

Don’t tell anyone, I have all my shopping done!! Can’t it be, that I was able to actually enjoy the weekend before Christmas, without the worry of finishing up shopping? Okay, slight lie – I got the last few presents on Sunday and then am waiting for a few to come in the mail. BUT, I considered that done! Especially, since the last few years, I wait to finish on Christmas Eve. I’m one of those weirdo’s that enjoys wrapping (anything, really) presents, so that is fun to me! Since I’m such a novice at this blogging thing and work life was pretty busy at the end of the week,…

Musings: Busiest Week Possible, No Biggie…

How dare a marathon get in the way of the busiest week of the entire year. Isn’t it Murphy’s law, that anything that can happen, will. Well, that is exactly how the week leading up to my FIRST marathon was turning out to me. So, knowing that I always get to host our December Girls Night, I make it a point to have my decorations up and a tree looking gorgeous the weekend after Thanksgiving. This along with my running schedule, made it more stressful this year, but I was not letting my girls down. It’s not that I have a huge amount of decorations, but on top of decorating,…
