    Musings: Family by L O V E

In life, there are people we choose as our family. And then there are the humans who are technically family. I’ve never questioned or wondered about who was my family by blood. Most of them have been around my entire life. Some not always, but I’ve been lucky that almost all of them have been. I’ve seen weird tensions arise and I’ve seen strong sibling relationships. Our family isn’t perfect but for the most part, it’s strong and thriving. However, I’ve also been lucky enough to have two amazing parents who have brought more family into our lives. They have encircled us with more strong and loving adults, who we…

    Musings: My First Disneyland Birthday

It only took me 36 years… Thanks, parentals 😉 HAHA, JK, I’m totally kidding. I am so beyond blessed and spoiled by my parents, this is TOTALLY a joke! But, now I know why we generally didn’t go to Disneyland for my birthday. March in Anaheim is sketchy. Like, are you going to dump buckets or are you going to be warm and sunny? The week before we left I was looking at the weather app each day, possibly multiple times a day. All I kept seeing was the rain emoji for Sunday and cloudy for Monday. Nothing I could do about it, except for plan my outfits accordingly. Months…

    Musings: 35 Things I’ve Learned at 35

Do I even have 35 things I’ve learned this year? Before we get into it, I have to admit, I’ve been walking around assuming I’m 36 and about to turn 37. HAHA! I guess anything after 30 doesn’t really matter anymore right?! Just teasing, I don’t believe that for one second. I’ve always been one to celebrate birthdays. I love celebrating my next trip around the sun. I’m not afraid to get older, but I am afraid of death. I look forward to a year of lessons learned, the love shared, the laughter had, and good food enjoyed. I don’t expect every year to be shiny and rosy, but I…

    Rose & Thorn [42]

The first weekend of Spring did NOT disappoint…Rose: Miss Olivia’s 3rd birthday FUNstivities and our quarterly Napa trip with the girls! Thorn: Big Blue needing more work done… I’m pretty sure I spent more time outside this weekend than indoors AND it was perfect. Although my allergies might disagree, it was a lovely first weekend of Spring. Of course it was packed with activities, but honestly…what weekend isn’t? Friday As we made our bi-weekly trip up the hill to Folsom to swoop L, we decided to keep our Family Dinner Date night low key. Since it was veggie week our options seemed very limited. J didn’t seem into being adventurous…

WIAW – Let Birthday Month Commence!

Le Birthday Month is starting early! Thanks, Jenn! Thanks to the Bestest! 3-2, I’m ready for you. 31 was pretty awesome, as have been all of the previous years, but 31 was pretty magical. A handsome fella and his little princess landed in my life and I couldn’t be happier. Family and friendships are stronger than ever, I have no complaints as a woman in her early thirties 🙂 Birthday Month is pretty narcissistic, but if people want to hang out with me for my birthday, who am I to say ‘no’? The Bestest wanted to get the party started early this year and invited me to one of her…
