    Musings: Traditions Evolve

    I am very much a traditionalist. I love traditions. I use them as a way to honor those who have left us. But also, my type A enjoys the routine and normalcy of traditions. With a mixture of both desires, I am extremely happy living out traditions, especially during the Holidays. They definitely have evolved over the years, but they seem to be pretty consistent these days. Traditions have a special way of keeping our favorite memories alive, but their permanence can be an illusion at times too.     …and Like That It’s Over!

    Christmas has come and gone… …just like that. If you remember correctly, I was trying to find my Christmas spirit on Christmas Eve. Shortly after I wrote/posted that, it started to sink in and magically I began to start feeling more in the spirit. Maybe it was just saying it out loud (well, really writing it) that made snap out of it.     Busiest Week Possible, No Biggie…

    How dare a marathon get in the way of the busiest week of the entire year. Isn’t it Murphy’s law, that anything that can happen, will. Well, that is exactly how the week leading up to my FIRST marathon was turning out to me. So, knowing that I always get to host our December Girls Night, I make it a point to have my decorations up and a tree looking gorgeous the weekend after Thanksgiving.
