Vlogging For A Day + Hamilton

I’m young, scrappy, and hungry… …just like my Country. But still not comfortable recording myself and posting it. Okay, let me step back here a second and say I can easily turn the camera around for a selfie. I can easily get animated for a Boomerang. BUT what I’m talking about is recording myself. My voice. My weird facial expressions. My everything. That scares me. I’m in awe of those who can record themselves so naturally, because it DOES NOT come naturally to me. At. All. I don’t have much experience or dedication to the vlogging world, but I do know it exists. A friend was recently showing me a…

    Coffee Date Me!

When Starbucks inspires a post… …I hate to admit it, but its true! I was so enamored with their new breakfast wrap that I was going to write an entire post about it, but then decided to just have a coffee date with you instead. So as I drink my Venti Iced Soy Latte with an add shot (cause it was my rewards freebie and I have to make the most of it), I hope you enjoy your caffeinated beverage of choice. Well, lets get to it… Starbucks // Since my new job is very close to a drive-thru Sbux, I’ve been going there before work a lot. Iced coffee…

Race Recap: San Jose Giant Race 5 Miler

The race I always want to flake on… …but DON’T! I have to drive 1.5 hours the night before to get to Lil’s casa. Then we get up super early the next AM and drive 40 mins to the race. Then do it all over again for me to get back to SAC. I absolutely love supporting my Orange && Black, but this race takes its toll on me. Sadly, this may be our last SJ race now that the Lil is moving home. It doesn’t seem feasible or enjoyable to drive to SJ the morning of the race for a 7:30AM start time, nor does it seem exciting enough…

    Coffee Date – Adios May

Lordy, lordy…it’s already June! Hi! I feel like I’ve been scarce around here lately, but for good reason. Life’s curve balls have been pretty crazy the last month, so I thought I’d just breeze through the last 31 days, as if we were sitting in your/my fave coffee shop and chatting. First off, I hope your May was lovely, challenging, and fun OR whatever you needed it to be. Did anything exciting happen, did you complete any goals, did you eat any new food? I could sit here for awhile and ask you questions about your May. I love asking questions…always have, always will. Lovebugs // A new Love Bug…

    Musings: Smiply Crafting

Crafting done simple. Pinterest, my disdain still lingers, even though I continue to use it regularly. However, I think that with the ever fanatic use of the app/tool, people forget to come back to reality and remember most of us have full time jobs, kids, commitments…A LIFE! Pinterest crafting takes way too much time and money to really do it correctly…thus, simply crafting done MY own way!! Pinterest seems to put an emphasis on taking the simplicity of creativity out of the picture. Everything needs to be curated to the nth degree. For those that don’t give any F’s, kudos to you. It’s hard not too, human nature doesn’t make…

Race Recap: Girls On The Run Greater Sacramento 5k

Our first 5k together! I was finally able to support Girls On The Run (GOTR) again! I’ve been meaning to forever, but their race dates never seemed to sync up with my schedule. I have done one of their races before, but we didn’t sign up for the actual intent of supporting GOTR. It was when we committed to doing a 5k/month and the GOTR Fall race fit in all of our schedules. I remember it was a cool, foggy morning in East Sac for us! Also, I’ve interacted with the woman who runs the Greater Sacramento chapter and she’s really sweet — even though she didn’t hire me for…

Musings: It Doesn’t Have to Be That Way

All or NOTHING, that is! Photo Cred // Milo I’m pretty much like that about all things. But I’m trying not to be. I can thank Camilo (re: Milo) my coach and the owner at Midtown for the slow change in thought process. I was telling him I had a soccer tourney and I was possibly going to skip the gym the Friday prior, to which he replied “Come in. Lift light. Get in the gym.” It resonated. Just because I wasn’t going all out doesn’t mean that I couldn’t come in a do light weights and get my body moving. Why does it have to be an all out…

Musings: Stop Believing…but Don't Stop Too

Stop. Just stop. I have to get this off my chest. Please do not for one second think my social media posts are there to portray a ‘perfect’ life. A ‘perfect’ relationship. A ‘perfect’ ANYTHING. Just a random candid… I try to pretend that people don’t analyze or formulate their opinions about me or my posts and what my real life entails. I will let you know that nothing is curated in my social media. I do love to post and share what I like and love. And that’s just it. Me posting whatever makes me happy. It isn’t always sunshine and roses though. There have been though moments and…

    Musings: Frustrated

4 straight losses! Not just by one goal or anything, but by a lot! Of course, I want to sit here and rant and bitch about certain people. But no, that’s not right or fair. I need to be accountable for how shitty I played too. I didn’t do a damn thing in four games. I felt useless. I made some runs, but more than anything I made poor passes, didn’t get balls I should have, and just overall didn’t make a significant impact on the field. I LOVE tournaments. They take a toll on my body these days, but I love them. I love dedicating a whole weekend to…

    New-ish Sactown Eats

Sacramento stays poppin’! Said with mostly sarcasm. But seriously, Sacramento is always growing and evolving, but really their restaurant (and coffee) culture is what I’m speaking too. New places are always opening up, replacing other places…or sadly being closed.  I thought it would be fun to share some new places and stuff (around-ish the Grid) that I’ve tired, which are in essence of the word, “New” and some “New to Me” things I’ve tried recently — from places that have been here but apparently I didn’t give the time or day too (poor form on my part, obviously). Amaro Bistro // After a long, yet confusing meeting with the Fem…
