    I’ve M O V E D!

…to a BIGGER (not really) && (but a) BETTER place! I put on my big girl chonies AND made the move. Peace out, Blogger. Hello, Word Press. Hello, hosting. Hello, owning my domain. Hello, faux blogger life. Updated, 2.0 version! Yes, I finally decided to make the scary jump and own my domain, which was thankfully not taken. I also decided to host it for a variety of reasons, but mostly because I think Blogger won’t be around for too much longer. So I made the jump to Word Press. I wanted flexibility with whatever I decided to do next with Musings of A Girly Tomboy if anything. So, please pardon me while…

    Musings: Not Starting

My blogger dream could have been a reality… …but I wasn’t selected! I was crushed. That might be a slight exaggeration, but it still stings. The SF Giants started a new blogger ‘Starting Nine’ for their Giant Race series. When I saw their FB post asking for people to apply, I was seriously the happiest girl ever that day! And stopped everything that moment and applied. I probably should have spent a little more time on the application, looking back. There’s that hindsight again, always there to remind me! Anywho, the application was very simple, with a few questions to answer and you also had to list your Social Media…

    Musings: BoastFul(or Less)

I’ve been ridiculous lately…   I guess, if I openly admit it out loud, then I’m less of a horrible human. That’s how it works right? Okay, I’m being slightly sarcastic here, don’t get upset. Somehow, someway I started following a lovely lady via SM. I actually worked with her husband back in the day, but we’ve never met. However, we have some very similar qualities — blogging, wine (her Chardonnay, me Cab), and we both have marketing jobs. Jamee over at Perfectly Uncorked shared an article titled “My Husband Doesn’t Post About me on Social Media (and That’s Fine with Me)” written by the author at Queen Lion Heart. I noticed myself…

Musings of a Girly Tomboy Gets a Facelift

My blog is officially a toddler now! Musings of a Girly Tomboy officially became 3 on January 8, 2016. I can’t believe I started this hobby that long ago. The ebbs and flows of this new-ish found hobby have created happiness, annoyance, and some turmoil in my life. But I wouldn’t give it up, for anything. As Summer Sister put it two days ago, “she writes in a very down-to-earth style about her life.” Yes, she’s talking about me. And yes, I think that was her nice way of saying my tone is laid back and my posts are crawling with grammatical errors on the daily. Get your red pen…

    2 Posts, 1 Day – Instagram Husband

I can barely breath, I’m laughing so damn much! Anyone that dabbles in blogging can relate. But really, almost any woman knows how REAL this stupid video is! I couldn’t stop laughing and had to share, since I know so many of the bloggers I follow make their Husbands or Boyfriends…or friends do this for them on the reg.  I’m a culprit. I’m also the pic taker at times! I wear both hats, but probably one more so than the other. Bless J’s heart, he’s almost always willing to help me out with a pic or five hundred. Although lately he hasn’t been so good at hiding his disdain for…

    I Have A Secret…

…and I have no willpower to keep it inside. At all! This idea has been brewing for awhile. A loooong time ago, it started with the Bestest, but nothing came to fruition. No one to blame. We just talked about it, but never followed-up with it. Then more recently I had been thinking about it, while simultaneously thinking about what I’m doing with this blog. No dramatics at all, but just thinking about this space. I’m not like those bloggers who do this for a living or do it for any monetary value (although that would be awesome, I love money and free stuff), nor do I even have anything…

Me + Food + Writing = Girls on Food

I love food. I love to write. I love to write about food. So when I stumbled upon Girls on Food’s  IG I was pretty stoked. I don’t even remember how I got there, just grateful I did. What? There are women out there who love food, take pics and post their food, blog about their experience, and do it all over again? I think I found my kindred spirits! What’s even better is that the co-founders have Sacramento roots. So although they’ve moved on to more glamorous cities, they don’t forget their roots. Sacramento still gets love on their blog, along with some notoriously foodie cities! Go meet the…

Five Things Friday – ACA-scue me?!

Today more than ever, do I need to remind myself of happiness… Thanks, Clare! Too many thoughts swirling around my head without the perfect forum to verbalize them. Maybe I need a journal, maybe I should blog it…I’m just a little lost today. So, it’s the perfect time to remind myself of things that make me happy! 5 Things Making Me Happy 1. Pitch Perfect 2 – No, not deja vu, I wrote about this yesterday. But I’m a changed woman! I saw the movie last night, ACA-awesomely it wasn’t crowded in the theater! The crew behind us was hilarious, they used a whoopee cushion on one of their friends…

Thinking Out Loud – Musing Along

April is moving crazy fast! Amanda at .RUNNING WITH SPOONS. Sweet, short, and simple…that’s all I have for you today. Here are the random things I’d like to think aloud about today! F&$^// Eff! I know you other Bloggers can sympathize with me and my frustration. I had, what I thought, was a really cool post and ALL of a sudden…GONE! Adios! See ya NEVER! My computer was acting wonky, but I never hit the delete button! So, I’m pretty sure it’s gone forever, since I tried to recover it using various ways I found via the Internets. But unless any readers are Blogger savvy, please help a sister out!…

Thinking Out Loud – Like I Do Every Thursday

Well, well, well… Amanda at .RUNNING WITH SPOONS. It’s already Thursday, I’ll be darned! I’m pretty excited about this weekend, got some fun stuff planned 🙂 6 Months-ish // When I outed my blog, I knew there would be some support and probably some backlash (can’t think of a better word). And there has been. Being an open book has always come naturally, but finding my written voice is something new. I love that my friends and family embrace my blogging, even if I’m teased endlessly about it. I get to write about my life, my musings, my doings, and really whatever I please. If one hundred or none read…
