    Musings: My First Disneyland Birthday

It only took me 36 years… Thanks, parentals 😉 HAHA, JK, I’m totally kidding. I am so beyond blessed and spoiled by my parents, this is TOTALLY a joke! But, now I know why we generally didn’t go to Disneyland for my birthday. March in Anaheim is sketchy. Like, are you going to dump buckets or are you going to be warm and sunny? The week before we left I was looking at the weather app each day, possibly multiple times a day. All I kept seeing was the rain emoji for Sunday and cloudy for Monday. Nothing I could do about it, except for plan my outfits accordingly. Months…

    SURPRISE!

I pulled it off! I really, really pulled it off! I knew I might be able too, but when it actually came to fruition, it felt amazing. This post is a little overdue, I apologize. I’ve missed this space…a lot! Almost…since his (J’s) last birthday, I knew I wanted to do something big for him for his next birthday. Then my birthday rolled around and he planned a surprise trip. Not that we have to outdo each other or anything, but it inspired me to do something big. Plan something I’ve never done before. I decided that I wanted to surprise J (and L) with a weekend trip to Disneyland.…

    Every Summer has a Story…

…but our story is my favorite! I love that saying…it rings so true. Many equate the summer ending with school starting, but for a woman already in her career I don’t have that luxury anymore. Although, there is one pretty little gal in our household we get to live vicariously through summer eyes. I guess I shouldn’t forget J too, he gets a summer break. So really, I’m the minority in our family. Maybe that’s why this summer, compared to the last few, seems so different. I’m just sitting here jealous of sleeping in, days at the park, and no cares of school (re: work) for two of the loveliest,…

    Disneyland In One Day

Or 12 hours to be exact! It’s been over two years since I’ve been to Disneyland, but my (kinda) secret Disney freak was ready to be unleashed! However, I didn’t want to get my hopes up in case we didn’t go. But ever since Poppa Bear mentioned ‘maybe’ going when we debarked from the cruise, I’ve been holding my breath! Lucky me, we did go! Duh, or else I wouldn’t be writing this. After we rented our car, drove from the LBC to Anaheim, stopped at our hotel, and got on the shuttle, we were finally walking into the Happiest Place on Earth! I can’t even put into words how…

    Rose & Thorn [33]

Weekends are now synonymous with “long runs”… Rose: Celebrating my dativersary with J. Thorn: The bottom of my feet hurting, something crazy, after my long run…new pain! Friday  Game night with the soccer homies! I say soccer homies because most of us play soccer together, but we all also hang out outside of soccer too. After work, I went home to make my BLT dip for the party and also clean up the casa a bit. Just another case of the #NailedIt , but on a much smaller scale this time. I hate, no really hate mayo, so I found other ways to substitute it out. All of the ingredients…

    Happy, Happier, Happiest

I could possibly be a closet Disney freak… Could is incorrect, I am. It took just one trip back, after about seven years, to remind me of this. I completely and wholeheartedly adore everything about this place. The overpriced everything and overabundance of kids are not lost on me, but I just think of it as part of the experience. The marketer in me knows what is going on here, but I succumb to it all like a little kid. I want everything, this time my affinity was toward Minnie, which has changed from the Princess collection stuff! Something about the red with white polka dots was luring me in.…
