    Stay GOLD(en)

…as in your skin, your spirit, and your Yelp status! Gold Elite && Plus One Year five of yelping as an Elite gets you a shiny new colored badge. The elusive GOLD. But ah ha, at year 10 I hear you get a black badge, but that is still plenty years in the making for this Yelping gal! You’ve seen a few posts about Yelp Elite Events (YEE), but the one J and I went to this weekend was ONLY for Gold Elites.  Oh, we’re special 😉 Because we dedicate hours of our lives writing and contributing content for free. They reward our good behaviors with delicious food and booze.…

    Musings: Solidarity

Momma Bear has been on a mission. And of course, her highly skeptical daughter (re: me) had something to say about it. When she initially told us she committed to the local Results 20 lb challenge, I scoffed. Then she said she was forced to do two challenges, I was pissed. In retrospect I still don’t care for the way Results runs their business. I’ve also heard some unsavory things about the owners, but there are always two sides to every story. However, they are the push that Momma needed. They are helping her, motivating her, and guiding her to a healthier lifestyle — even if I think they are…

    Every Summer has a Story…

…but our story is my favorite! I love that saying…it rings so true. Many equate the summer ending with school starting, but for a woman already in her career I don’t have that luxury anymore. Although, there is one pretty little gal in our household we get to live vicariously through summer eyes. I guess I shouldn’t forget J too, he gets a summer break. So really, I’m the minority in our family. Maybe that’s why this summer, compared to the last few, seems so different. I’m just sitting here jealous of sleeping in, days at the park, and no cares of school (re: work) for two of the loveliest,…

    WIAW – Or Monday, Really…

Monday + Veggie Week = Just one of them days…. Thanks, Jenn! In spirit of trying to keep the WIAW spirit alive, I will keep it as Jenn originally intended. Although, I must admit, this will be rather boring, but at least I’ll be keeping it real with you and showing you exactly what I ate! So here goes a WIAM(onday) for veggie week! Breakfast I had brought a piece of toast w/ my Coconut Peanut Butter and some cereal. As I was about to rip off the crust, I don’t like it on this loaf, I noticed a bunch of mold. Sick, I need to pay better attention. So…

WIAW – The CA State Fair

Once a year I get to not give a crap and eat ALL the damn fried food I can find… Thanks, Jenn! If you’re lucky enough to host your state fair in your city, then you know what I’m talking about. I absolutely love everything about the California state fair and I go every year…I’m pretty sure I haven’t missed a year in my 31 years of existence. As a baby, maybe, but I pretend that I didn’t. I even worked at the fair for about 3 summers. The excruciating hot weather is unbearable, but the camaraderie with the fellow high school/college students and availability of fried food every day…
