    Musings: FALLing into Gratitude

    Fall brings one of my favorite holidays. Door Mat // Hobby LobbyShoes & Dress // Old Navy Thanksgiving, of course.  But more than taking in all the beautiful fall colors lining the streets of Sacramento, are the small acts of generosity that recently reminded me to be grateful and thankful. So, very appropriate for this time of year. To think that a child could not try a sport or activity is foreign to me. My naivety comes from the privilege and hard work of my parents, whom never let this be a barrier for myself or Lil. It went unnoticed at the time, but my parents worked so hard to…

    Musings: How do You Gratitude?

    Develop an attitude of gratitude… via …or don’t! grat·i·tude [ˈɡradəˌt(y)o͞od/ ] noun — the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. (from Google) The holiday season always brings gratitude to the surface, for me at least. I can’t speak for others. Last night, while enjoying the greasy delights of Jimboy’s Tacos, the topic came up again. As children, we both realized, we grew up with influences of showing gratitude verbally, but also through other actions such as gifting, thank you notes, or a kind act. I guess this is one of those reasons we get along so well, we gratitude the same, among a…

    Be Merry…

    …or not! Normally, the time right before Thanksgiving to New Years is my favorite time of the year (minus summer months). But for some reason this year, I’m just not in the spirit. Wrapping presents and shopping felt like a chore, which is normally my FAVORITE thing to do, especially the wrapping. Decorating was fun, but since we’ve had our tree since the weekend after Thanksgiving, it is already super dried out. Besides being dry, our tree definitely has character this year. I went a little larger than last year and I think I should have added another string of lights. But it definitely has a goofy lean to it,…

    Girls Night – A Year in Review {2015}

    Our Girls Nights > Yours That sounds a little cocky, but I believe it. On Thursday night, after everyone had left besides Care and the Lovebug, I sat on the couch watching him jump around and felt a cloud of happiness and contentment settle over me. I absolutely LOVE hosting December girls night. It forces me to have my decorating done the weekend after Thanksgiving, because I know all the girls will be over. But this is also my favorite time of the year and I love to see so many amazing humans in my house, happy, loud, and laughing! I thought I’d take a look back at the last…

    Thinking Out Loud – 805 Musings

    Stupid sore, but still smiling from ear to ear from this weekend! Amanda at .RUNNING WITH SPOONS. The 805 elicits something out of me, that many things don’t. Good memories, good times, and good food. There isn’t too many places that I make it a point to go to, but San Luis Obispo is right on top of that list. Don’t get me wrong, any warm, sandy location is also at the top of that list. But the memories I’ve made here, the life I remember, and the food I eat here are all reasons why part of my heart will always be here. So I thought I’d do another,…

My family – spending time with them is always refreshing and brightens my spirits. 2. Midtown – for my coach and fellow crazies who push me to be better and try harder during our workouts. 3. Sleep – I was able to get in a crazy long night of sleep on Tuesday and it was exactly what my body needed. 5. Blogging – I love…
