Musings: The (VRBO Owner) Crazy Continues…

I told you… I told you she was crazy. I wrote Musings: VRBO (Rental #318895) Gone Wrong and then filed a formal complaint to VRBO. A day and a half later I received a message and a ‘compliment’ on Yelp. Take a peek… A ‘compliment’ she sent me, which I approved! Her crazy can be seen by the world! Direct message sent to me via Yelp. I couldn’t stop laughing after I read these empty threats. The lack of proper grammar and punctuation would lead me to believe she is not very educated. If she even attempts to contact my employer, she will never hear the end of anything from…

Musings: VRBO (Rental #318895) Gone Wrong

You pay for what you get… If you remember way back to August 2016, we went to Hawaii for Lil’s 30th birthday. Here are a few of the posts: Cali Girl Does Hawaii: Back to the Island Cali Girl Does Hawaii: #SAndJTravels_Hawaii Cali Girl Does Hawaii: Zippin’ on a Whim We’d never used VRBO, but others in our family had, so we gave it a shot. It’s like the original Air BnB. We did not due our due diligence in finding a home and we also chose to error on the cheap side when selecting our final rental. Boy did that bite us in the ass. But we all tried…

Musings: Every Summer Has a Story…

2016  was the Summer of polarizing emotions, feelings, and life. More than anything, emotionally this was the hardest Summer I’ve ever experienced. Within the depths of deep sadness and anger, were moments of fun, travel, and good food. All culminated with happiness, but to get here was a struggle. I’m pretty sure I came across the saying “Every Summer Has a Story,” as I was scrolling through Pinterest one day. It stuck with me. It rings so true. Even as an adult, I still live for summers. Bikini’s, tans, vacations, and watermelon — summer is my favorite season, even in the sweltering Sacramento heat. Last year I wrote a post…

Cali Girl Does Hawaii: Zippin' on a Whim

A family that adventures together… …laughs endlessly at one another! We’d been randomly talking about zip lining and/or horseback riding, but no one was really taking it seriously enough to make a reservation. So, late into multiple hours tanning at Sunset Beach on Friday, I called Climb Works about eight minutes before they closed, inquiring about availability for the next day (Saturday). Between about ten phone calls in the span of those eight minutes they were left open, we secured a reservation. Two actually, originally zipping at 3:45PM on Saturday, we found out that there was a 7:20AM time slot. Even though that was early (4:20AM our time) it would…

    14 for 14

Exactly like ESPN’s 30 for 30…duh! Oh and a little taste of WIAW cause yesterday’s lunch got a little ethnic interesting… 1 // Pledging, getting accepted, and getting kicked out of November Project. The bitterness has come and gone. It was fun while it lasted and. B&B are doing amazing things with the movement and it’s a joy to watch it grow, even if I’m not a part of it. The time spent dedicated to the movement was great, more importantly, a learning experience – both physical and emotional! One of the first NP_Pledge sessions in January 2014. 2 // The First Date.  Like a creep, J took this pic…

    WIAW – Hawaiian Eats

Eat. Beach. Sleep. Repeat. Thanks, Jenn! Just warning you, you are about to experience some serious food porn from Hawaii. Okay, that might be a little extreme, but we ate our way around the island AND then some. Yes, I attempted to document everything I ate when I was in Hawaii. Well, almost everything! So here it goes. We left on a Tuesday and came home on a Tuesday. I decided in order to keep you enthralled, or rather not kill you with the longest post ever, I would not post all 7 days worth of eats at once. Disclaimer: If you follow me on IG, then you’ve seen…

    Treat Yourself Tuesday

Treat Yo Self! Olives ‘n’ Wine I don’t generally need a reason to treat myself, but I thought it would be fun to do this link up from Becky at Olives ‘n’ Wine. I’ve been following her for awhile, but this is the first time I’m going to sit here and brag about what I’ve bought myself lately. So, normally I don’t buy myself too much! Psh, such a lie. I thought I’d try it out though. I don’t have kids or pets, so I pretty much get to spend my money on ME! I also, at times, get to spoil those I love and enjoy that just as much,…

    Five Things Friday

I wish I was writing this from Hawaii, like last week #FirstWorldProbs! Thanks, Clare! You know, some days just aren’t good writing days, I think today is one of those day! So I’ll be short and random, to say the least.  I posted this last Friday and I wanted to follow up on it, so we can see how I did…   5 Ways I Plan to Stay Active In Hawaii: 1. Working out at the 24 hour near the hotel or the hotel gym. – Yes, did two workouts at the 24 Hour connected to our hotel! 2. Running my way around the city and the ocean. – Yes,…

Thinking Out Loud – Hawaii Edition

Back on that grind… Amanda at .RUNNING WITH SPOONS. I thought I’d just verbally spew some stuff from my recent trip to Hawaii and whatnot… Sunsets – I never take the time to watch the sunset in Sacramento, but I feel like when you’re in Hawaii and it’s setting over the beautiful ocean, its a must. It was definitely a trip of relaxation, so we were in no hurry to leave the beach when the sun was setting. It was a perfect way to end our days at the beach. Plus the views are worth more than anything you can buy or picture you can take. It was so relaxing…
