    Musings: The New COOL Aid

Okay, so no big cool red jug dancing around… via Wikipedia …just a huge domineering corporation garnering WOM marketing like crazy for a ‘hidden menu’. It seems like hidden menus are the cool thing these days, In-N-Out and Jamba Juice, just to name a few. Of course, the tasty caffeinated conglomerate has one too. The funny thing is, when I went rouge and ordered one of these drinks the barista said “we make anything you want”. Suggesting that idea dumbfounded me, for some odd reason. I’m accustomed to traditional menus at restaurants. Creating my own item just sounds far fetched. But in reality, that’s what I’m doing when I customize…

    2 Posts, 1 Day – Instagram Husband

I can barely breath, I’m laughing so damn much! Anyone that dabbles in blogging can relate. But really, almost any woman knows how REAL this stupid video is! I couldn’t stop laughing and had to share, since I know so many of the bloggers I follow make their Husbands or Boyfriends…or friends do this for them on the reg.  I’m a culprit. I’m also the pic taker at times! I wear both hats, but probably one more so than the other. Bless J’s heart, he’s almost always willing to help me out with a pic or five hundred. Although lately he hasn’t been so good at hiding his disdain for…

    Musings: Almost Asking

If you don’t ask, you won’t know. Those damn old adages are so annoyingly true. You’d think I’d have learned my lesson after 32 years of life, but I’m still learning. I also think they are a little more annoying (re: cute & lovingly, of course) because J loves to use these cheesy, old sayings…all the time! I haven’t quite mastered the outright ‘ask,’ but I’ve definitely stepped up my ability to hint or suggest what I’m looking for. From the small things to the big things, it’s a skill I’ve been trying to master lately. I like to think I can do everything all on my own, but I’m not naive.…

    Musings: #BORNandMADE

I am #BORNandMADE ! Scrolling through IG yesterday I had seen a few similar looking posts, but didn’t pay much mind to them. It wasn’t until the afternoon that Katchet’s of The Lipstick Giraffe caught my eye. So then I had to go and take a look. What I found was…AMAZING! Another outlet for women to empower themselves, other women, communities, and our society.  I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure what all this was about, but then I did some research and read more about the two organizations that partnered with one another: Carol’s Daughter & I AM THAT GIRL. Here is a little information and links for each organization:…

    Musings: Distracted

There are always distractions, if you allow them. – Tony La Russa I found myself lost, distracted, and not focusing on the right things. And yes, I did just quote a non-SF Giants manager. That being said, I realized (a long time ago) I spend way too much time on my phone and more importantly on all of my Social Media (SM) accounts. I will be the first person to admit that too you, I don’t ever hide it. In fact, if you hid(e) me, deleted me, or blocked me…I wouldn’t even blame you. We tend to keep people in our SM feeds out of obligation (friend or family), even…

    Musings: #LifeUnfiltered

The highlight reel! That’s what we post on social media. Not all the time nor every single user, but for the most part we share the good and happy moments of our lives. We stay away from the sad topics, but we will tread lightly near the ones that will madden us. However, I believe social media can be summed up in one small sentence that I saw on Twitter (which I re-purposed for my own IG): My opinion on this topic is nothing new to the blog. Previously, I wrote this post showing what I Instagram’d versus what was actually happening when I took the pic, which I all…

    My Confidence Gap

Confidence or lack thereof? I had every intention of doing a Five Things Friday post, but after a conversation with J yesterday (one of a few) I couldn’t shake my thoughts on this subject.  What is confidence? I’m not sure I even have this answered in my own head or thoughts. Sorry if this post seem slightly incoherent, my thoughts are all over place, and I’m trying to figure out my feelings as I write this post.  If you watched the Mindy Project this week, then you’ll understand why our original conversation started. After the episode ended, I made the statement “I am not that confident.” J seemed to think…

Thinking Out Loud on a Thurrrrsday

I’m a little frenzied, pardon me… Amanda at .RUNNING WITH SPOONS. A runner’s high and a 16oz soy mocha are to blame! That mixed with my casual attire at work today, mean it’s already been a great day. That and I was able to order my new Saucony (casual) shoes that I’ve been eying since they said they were going to release them! So,  you have…an overly happy, almost hyper writer on your hands! Food for Thought // I saw this on IG and I posted it on FB, but it really hit home. By that I mean it really made me think of my own self love. “…and if…

Thinking Out Loud – Right to Write

Thinking and writing… Amanda at .RUNNING WITH SPOONS. Sometimes it’s nice to just sit and write. So, today, that’s what feels right. For Adults Too // I feel so ridiculous, being over 30 and sucking apple sauce from a pouch. But not ridiculous enough to continue to buy them and still do it! They are convenient, they are tasty, and for the most part, they are pretty healthy. I’m sure there are some full of sugary goodness, but I try to buy the healthy ones. I love snacking on them at work, they aren’t messy and they are convenient. I do admit, it must be an interesting sight to see…

Thinking Out Loud – Hawaii Edition

Back on that grind… Amanda at .RUNNING WITH SPOONS. I thought I’d just verbally spew some stuff from my recent trip to Hawaii and whatnot… Sunsets – I never take the time to watch the sunset in Sacramento, but I feel like when you’re in Hawaii and it’s setting over the beautiful ocean, its a must. It was definitely a trip of relaxation, so we were in no hurry to leave the beach when the sun was setting. It was a perfect way to end our days at the beach. Plus the views are worth more than anything you can buy or picture you can take. It was so relaxing…
