    Our Little Lisette [My Little Pony Themed Party]

    Full of color and a little magic… Photo by UVVisions Photography (Cropped) …”Our Little Lisette’s” 8th birthday needed to be as Ponyriffic as she is…AND it was! Like my post last week said, I’m all about being the faux Hostess with the Hostess. Thanks to Pinterest and the Dollar Tree, anyone can pretty much be now. That being said, we let L pick out the theme of her party. She knew right away, My Little Pony was exactly what she wanted. I, for sure, thought she’d change her mind by the time the party came around, but she didn’t. She was excited and happy about the theme. Of course, once…

    They're HERE!

    I love professional photos. I feel deprived that we didn’t do them regularly, while growing up. Sorry Mom, kinda kidding. Is it weird that this is one of the things I was really looking forward to when I had my own family. Since I already spilled the beans about how much time I spent on selecting our outfits (via this post), I thought I’d share a few with you. I love having these memories captured for a multitude of reasons. I think it is essential to have professional pics of L taken every year, memorializing her growth. Obviously my iPhone has nothing on an actual, real life camera. Having someone…

    Musings: Family Photos {2015}

    I broke the cardinal rule. Something that should be so simple, seemed to add a little stress. Really, a photo session shouldn’t be stressful, but it kinda happened that way. Well, really figuring out our outfits was the stressor. Three outfits that compliment each other, but don’t look too staged or matchy-matchy! Sounds simple, but it’s harder than one would think! Way too much of my time was spent pinning color schemes and outfit ideas. I also pinned picture poses that would work for us. In case you have any upcoming family photo’s maybe all my hard work will help you (or at least someone) out: Follow Musings of A Girly…

    SURPRISE!

    I pulled it off! I really, really pulled it off! I knew I might be able too, but when it actually came to fruition, it felt amazing. This post is a little overdue, I apologize. I’ve missed this space…a lot! Almost…since his (J’s) last birthday, I knew I wanted to do something big for him for his next birthday. Then my birthday rolled around and he planned a surprise trip. Not that we have to outdo each other or anything, but it inspired me to do something big. Plan something I’ve never done before. I decided that I wanted to surprise J (and L) with a weekend trip to Disneyland.…

    You’re One In A Melon [Watermelon Themed Party]

    Baller-on-a-budget, kids themed party status! To say we were on a tight budget, is an understatement. All our traveling bills came at once and so did a rapidly approaching birthday party! But you make do, because that’s how life goes. In our house, watermelon goes by the name of sandia (watermelon in Spanish), so it unofficially became the ‘sandia party’ in our everyday lives and discussions! I know I love to say how much I detest Pinterest, but it really came in handy this time around. All I had to to was type “watermelon + themed + party” and I really didn’t have to do much from there. Well, besides…
