Race Recap: California International Marathon – Relay 2015

Same name, different team. Obsessed with this sign this year. I think the California International Marathon is magical. I may be slightly biased because it resides in my backyard, but nonetheless, there is something that it does to this city, year after year. If you aren’t pissed that you cannot drive anywhere in Sacramento because of the road closures, then you are on the course cheering your heart out. There is no in between, unless you’re running. You either admire the feat or you detest it for causing you delays to and fro. If you’ve been around awhile, then you know this was the race I ran as my first…

Race Recap: California International Marathon Relay

When running the relay just doesn’t feel right… Because it is the RUNniversary of your first, EVER, marathon! Okay, get over myself, I know…I know! For a different perspective on this race, please feel free to read my race recap from last year. However, before last year, this was a yearly staple race on the calendar. Ever since I started running in races, this one has been on my list to do. We always have pretty much the same team for the relay and I usually get to do the last leg and run through the finishing chute. We mixed it up this year. I am less apprehensive about running…

    Where’s the reset button?

Dramatic, much?!? After nights like last night, I can’t help but sit here and smile. Yes, I have an overwhelming need to hit the reset button of life. But after last night, I am reminded to take life as it comes and remember that maybe slowing down isn’t such a bad thing. I had my alarm set for 5AM to make it to Midtown for a lifting class this AM, but I decided to snooze. I’m still feeling the effects of a sinus infection, but the antibiotics are slowly starting to work their way through my system. I was also feeling the effects of a GN gone perfect and not…

    Race Recap: California International Marathon

I am a Marathoner! This has been a long time coming, so please bear with me as this recap will most likely be a mini novela! Earliest wake-up call known to man!  So I knew I had to be at the Parentals by 4:45AM to make it to the bus by 5:15AM. It was imperative that I get my breakfast on and have time to make sure I had all my gear, nutrition, and hydration in place. So, bright and freakin’ early I was up. AM, yeah that’s right! As I have been doing for the last four months, I wake up with enough time to eat breakfast and poop (TMI, but…

It’s Friday. Its Fabulous. Five Fabulous “F” things going on in my life… Family : I love that we get to see them more often during the holidays. All the hype will end soon 🙂 Flabergasted: Okay, not really, but kind of annoyed that I didn’t get chosen for the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in DC. I went…

Friday’s Count as the Weekend, Sometimes…

Some weekends are just meant to start on Friday! Doesn’t matter that I had work all day. I was able to have lunch with the Parental’s and Momma’s BFF and her daughter. I’ve only known her as Aunt J and I will continue to always think of her as family. One of my favorite quotes is “Friends are family we choose.”  My friendship role models – Aunt J & Momma Love lunch dates w/ fam! Nothing makes me happier than snail mail. I love opening mail, bills and junk/ads go without saying. This week was a great snail mail week. Three on-line orders were delivered, so I was in Heaven.…
