    Musings: My Claim to Fame

I’m like, kinda Insta-famous… Totally kidding. However, this day in age, when a brand reposts, or even comments on your social, it tends to mean something to some. Some people could give a rats ass about this stuff. I can appreciate that. Then you have those, like myself, who enjoy the sentiment from a brand. This could be becuase this is also my line of work. Or part narcassim, or part (social media) culture. Anywho, I staged a fun pizza pic after the madness of our December Girls Night had died down. There was a plethora of chaotic kid-ness going on and I patiently waited to take my staged photo…

    Musings: 30 Days of Italy

The perfect social diary of my time in Italy. Really, it was also my way of sharing my gratitude for my Italian travels. As if my posting while in Italy wasn’t enough, I decided to share a new Italy post per day for the entire month of November. Not even worried about overgramming, cause I’m so thankful for the experience and trip. It was also a way for me to openly journal my thoughts about and during my trip. I had every intention of journaling every day I was there, but by the end of our busy days, the last thing I wanted to do was journal. Most nights I’d scroll…

Musings: I Have a SECRET Instagram Account

No, NOT for creeping! I can do that with my regular account. HAHA! I created an account to share the raw and authentic, yet sometimes ugly, stuff on my mind in a very ANONYMOUS way. A good friend mentioned they created an account specifically for one topic in their life. I was intrigued. VERY intrigued. I asked for the handle and it was shared with me. I loved the posts because I’ve gone through a similar experience and I appreciated the posts, captions, and responses by others. It was then that it dawned on me, this would be a helpful tool for me. My therapist has taught me to ask myself the hard…

Musings: What I Don’t Want to Be Known For…

The girl that is always on her phone. And I am! Ugh! And not in a good way! Girl — PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN! “You’re always on your phone.” “Quit social mediaing.” “What else is new, she’s always on her phone.” Good God. How disconnected am I from this literal world? I’m embarrassed that this is me. I can’t hide from it. I don’t tout it. But shit, it isn’t something I want to be known for. I HATE when anyone says these things to me and I argue that I’m not. But really, if people are pointing it out, then I must damn well be. I don’t want to be…

Musings: Wide Open Walls 2017 – Sacramento, CA

Sophomore year for Sactown! Last year Krystle and I biked around and checked out the Sacramento Mural Festival that popped up. This year they vamped it up, renamed it, and marketed it like Sacramento knows how to do! Wide Open Walls 2017! About the event, straight from the website: “The Wide Open Walls mural festival is taking place from August 10th through the 20th, 2017. It will bring over 40 artists – local, national and international – to the Sacramento area. This year’s event adds to the region’s already venerable history of mural painting – which has produced over 600 murals over the last 40 years.”   Jamee, whom you…

    Q&A Style w/ Jamee: Social Media + SO's,

Social media lunch dates really make me smile! As I was enjoying my Matcha Lemonade and Bacon Melt with Jamee, I steered our conversation to the topic of Significant Others (SO, from here on out) and social media. I was saying (re: complaining) how after 3.5 years J has finally hit his limit with US-ies or pics in general, even being the #InstagramHusband is completely an annoyance too. I also mentioned how he doesn’t understand or really empathize with how much I enjoy SM, among other various things related to SM. To which she, “So does my Husband.” I was surprised for some reason because via SM he is super…

    3 Day Sabbatical

Better late than never, right… I’m already finishing the third week of my new job. Surprise! I got a new job. I wanted to do a post about leaving my job at the Nut House and how I was excited to start something new. But then I figured I better wait until I actually start the new job before I blog about it. Then, the next thing you know, my first week was done and it was a crazy, busy and here we are NOW! Three weeks in and excited…and being challenged in a great way. It’s not like you walk around talking about looking for a new job. But those that I vent to…

Musings: Stop Believing…but Don't Stop Too

Stop. Just stop. I have to get this off my chest. Please do not for one second think my social media posts are there to portray a ‘perfect’ life. A ‘perfect’ relationship. A ‘perfect’ ANYTHING. Just a random candid… I try to pretend that people don’t analyze or formulate their opinions about me or my posts and what my real life entails. I will let you know that nothing is curated in my social media. I do love to post and share what I like and love. And that’s just it. Me posting whatever makes me happy. It isn’t always sunshine and roses though. There have been though moments and…

Musings: Getting Comfortable Being Uncomfortable @ The Blog Bloc Launch Party

Communities are how we explain things to the growing gal in our home. We are involved in and part of different communities in our lives. Our home is a community. School is a community. Grouping parts of our daily lives as communities and our respective responsibilities in communities is something we stress in our household. In hopes to raise a kind and responsible human. She’s taken to this idea quite well, but I realized it is applicable for J and I as well. Although I tend to shy away from saying I’m part of the blogger/creative community in Sacramento, I am. I shouldn’t shy away from this, but I tend…

    Musings: Unicorn (Frappuccinos) Are Real

You know I had to see what the hype was about! No, you don’t need to call me basic. Don’t even get me started on how I canNOT stand that word and its usage. Shows how much is wrong with our generation of judgy, narcissist humans walking around thinking its okay to throw judgment like confetti. And YES, I’m hella judgemental too, but I’ve learned to check myself and question why I’m being that way! And while we’re at it, stop food shaming people. This term is accurate, yet a little exaggerated for this situation. But really, let people try something that looks cool to them. Let people not wan…
