Musings: More Than Just the BOOs

But BOOs is also pretty awesome too! The distraction of international travel didn’t really leave much mental space for Halloween thoughts. I had less than two days + jetlag to get my act together and get into the ghouly spirit. I anticipated not actually caring since the last four Halloweens were dedicated to someone else(s), but I actually felt like I should and kinda wanted to too. Work is ALL about Halloween. It seems to have stemmed from a previous CEO, but don’t quote me on that. People take it seriously around here. Emails more than a month prior go out about the decor and theme. And you thought I was…

    Musings: A SURPRISE Breakup Party

No Juan was harmed during this celebration! I feel like this type of thing only happens to Real Housewives of [insert hella different cities] or on SATC! N E V E R did I imagine my girl tribe would surprise me with a breakup party! I woke up the next day with the largest smile I’ve had in a long time and even caught myself literally laughing out loud to myself, about the antics of a wonderful evening celebrating my breakup. The group chat for the entire next day was literally giving me life and had me laughing out loud in my cubicle and at the gym! Seriously, I am…

    SURPRISE!

I pulled it off! I really, really pulled it off! I knew I might be able too, but when it actually came to fruition, it felt amazing. This post is a little overdue, I apologize. I’ve missed this space…a lot! Almost…since his (J’s) last birthday, I knew I wanted to do something big for him for his next birthday. Then my birthday rolled around and he planned a surprise trip. I decided that I wanted to surprise J (and L) with a weekend trip to Disneyland.…

    We've Been BOO'ed

And it’s the best feeling, ever! Yet, some how I forget about it every single year…until it happens to me! The last handful of Halloween’s B & M have always left me a fun little surprise. But this year, we had a different little ghostly ghoul surprise us! Never been BOO’ed before? Sorry! But here it is, super simple and such a sweet gestures. Make a goody bag of any sorts – big, small, candy, themed, whatever you want or can afford. Add a note, which you can Google or use the one we were left this year. Drive to your family or friend’s house, set the package down on…

    5 Surprises (not Things) Friday!

I love surprises! Thanks, Clare! I’m just not that great with receiving them, even though I love getting them. I wouldn’t say I’m full Type-A material, but I think I am on the cups of Type-A and B. That being said, I like to know the details, the plan, and to think of back-ups as needed. And my intuition is pretty, I mean really, good. I normally pick up on surprises well before they happen. Kudos to J and his accomplices, I was astonished, surprised, and am still smiling from ear to year. Sometimes you need to let others take the wheel and be surprised! Technically he only had four…
