Musings: Ganeeban DOES NOT Tri in 2018

I don’t want to write this post. I feel like a failure. I feel weak. I’ve let myself down. I’ve let you down. But I do want to honor myself. I want to honor my true self and be intentional about my actions. I know I put it out there (into the Social Media world) to keep myself accountable. I even paid for professional training. But life got messy and Triathlon training was no longer important. My six weeks of grueling Tuesday Tri training’s were intense, hard, and great growth for me to learn more about the sport. They built me up and created a newfound excitement, only to be deflated…

    Musings: #GaneebanTris – Week 5

All is quiet around here… …even though I am close to the end of my training program with Multisport Endurance Academy. This week was pretty normal for workouts, Midtown wise. We did have L for Spring Break, so that was a nice little and added something to our household. One exciting training moment was when I PR’d my power snatch. It was a small 0.5 kg PR, but a PR nonetheless. This is my worst lift and I’m slowly, each week, trying to add a little more weight. I couldn’t quite pull off a full snatch, but I’ll take a power snatch PR any day of the week. I think…

    Musings: Triathlons, The Basics

Three disciplines that create one race! What sick bastard thought this up? Bwahaha! To be fair, most of these ideas are not original, but I was asked not to credit said person I learned this info from. Well to be fair, some was learned from said person and some were learned with a simple Google search. So, in a hopefully aesthetically pleasing way, I share with you the basics… Of course, I have my own preferences regarding different equipment, as would each of you. If you are reading this AND experienced in Tri’s, what would you suggest? One extra thing that I would suggest is a good watch, but I…

    Musings: #GaneebanTris – Week 4

2/3 of the way done. When you start training six weeks kinda sounds daunting. Now that I’m in the thick (if you can be in the thick with only six weeks) of it, it seems to be flying past me. The halfway mark felt like I hit the wall. I’m not as excited as I was originally was. Not sure if it’s hormonal or just life, but I’ve lost some lust for the tri!           As week 3 of tri training closed, I still am #MidtownStrong. Small, but significant to me, PRs have been happening. I was able to add another 0.5kg weight to my snatch, but…

    Musings: #GaneebanTris – Week 2

…and fails! Not really fails, but damn humbled by the latest #TriTuesdayTraining for sure. But first, let’s get talking about post workout #1. Putting the bike in my car and getting it out is so damn annoying. Thankfully, J has been super helpful in doing this, even in the rain. Each time I have to put down the seats and remove the cover, then awkwardly scrape myself and my car, by trying to thrust the bike in there without getting it caught somewhere. Definitely a case of first world problems. Thankfully, I have a blog I can whine about these things. After the first training, I asked a few questions from…
