    Musings: One SPECtacular Year

Workavsaries are a thing, right? If you haven’t come to notice it, I love to celebrate milestones, birthday’s, anniversaries — pretty much anything that can be celebrated. I know this tradition stems from my parents, because they too, like myself, celebrate all this stuff as well – mine, theirs, Lils, everyone’s! ‘Birthday Month’ notwithstanding of course, it created itself and continues to be strong. I won’t defend it, it just happens that way every year. Why stop it? HA HA! In 2017 I left a job where I loved my coworkers and I enjoyed what I was doing, but saw NO career growth in sight. I left that comfort and…

Cali Girl Does Chicago – AGAIN

Chi Town, weeeeeee’reeeeee baaaack! Lucky for me, I get to travel domestically for work once (now really twice) a year for tradeshows. This year brought us back to Chicago, which I couldn’t have been happier about. This place, minus the random weather, has so many fun things to do and see, plus all the amazing food. I will say, being there for a week is a little much, but just enough to make you miss good ‘ol California! Thankfully, my fave traveling partner could join me again. Vaycay for him, work for me…with a little playing too 😉 We were able to add to our silly little hashtag – #SAndJTravels_Chicago…

    Le End (Totes x 4)

Finally, a tote I didn’t change one thing too… Promise! But the lackluster eloquence of this post is because this is my last tote. I decided that I’d rather not pay the monthly fee and just use that money towards actual clothes and/or accessories I get to keep.  Nonetheless, I still tried everything in the tote, but it wasn’t as urgent as other totes. Since I knew I had until the 11th to end my subscription. It was fun, I was introduced to new brands, but I just don’t quite think it’s for me. Items listed from L to R  Cupcakes And Cashmere Brush Stroke Top If By Sea Cut…

    LeTote Seconds, Please!

Receive as is… ..repeat mantra. That’s what I had to tell myself when I was having my second tote sent my way. However, in all honesty, I did switch one thing out – I exchanged the scarf for a different print. Okay, that aside, I just went with what they suggested — even though I knew they didn’t quite match the current weather Sacramento is having. Tote #2 comin’ at ya: Items listed from L to R: AVA Annika Knit Tunic Dress  Leota Geometric Overlay Dress   AVA Bow Cardigan AVA Turquoise T Cuff  Echo Neckwear Triangle Geo Scarf So, this is what LeTote’s algorithm thinks I shall wear. Let’s give…

    Musings: Transparency

Sometimes I go looking on Pinterest for quotes… Because noting is as transparent as water. // Chicago, IL 2015 …or sometimes they just pop up in my random feed. But none the less, I’m one of those girls, who bides her time by scrolling through randomness. At times, I’ve come across images or text that stop me mid-scroll and speak to me. Might sound a little dramatic, but it’s true. As I’ve gotten older, I realized that above anything, transparency is what is important to me. I used to think it was honesty, but I think that really finds itself intertwined in transparency. It’s taken me 32 years to realize…

    You’re My Boy, (Big)Blue!

Be well my friend!  Yesterday I said an almost tearful good bye to my friend, my literal ride or die, Big Blue. Yes, I’m slightly heartbroken about giving up my car of fourteen years. That car has become part of my identity. Big Blue and I just go together, we just have since I inherited him (sometimes I used both genders for BB, not too sure why). Meet Big Blue // 2000 Honda CRV I’ll forever be indebted to my parents for arming me with a car from the age of 16. I have never been a car person at all, so whatever they handed me I drove, without (many)…

Cali Girl Does Chicago – The End!

I love exploring different places… …but nothing feels as good as home! All good things must come to an end, but first you better enjoy the hell out of them. I wasn’t homesick at all, but I was definitely missing my pillows and L’s sweet little face! But before we departed the Windy City, we enjoyed our last two days to the fullest (even with full trade show days)! Day 2 of the trade show is always the longest! So, knowing that I tried to get plenty of sleep. Standing on your feet for 7 hours, may not sound tough, but it gets exhausting. I ordered room service for breakfast,…

Thinking Out Loud – What Happened…

It’s already Thursday…. Amanda at .RUNNING WITH SPOONS. Annual Meeting // Every year, here at work, we host an Annual Meeting for our grower owners. If you don’t get this, then sorry. We are a cooperative here at work, so we are owned by the growers who entrust us with their almonds. Once a year we put on a meeting to show them what we’ve been doing all year, to make their almonds make them money. Pretty simple right…it’s basically a scaled down version of a trade show. I am in charge of my division’s booth, so this week has been a little hectic at work. The show was a…

    WIAW Turns Liebster Award

What has my life come too? Thanks, Jenn! I don’t have any pictures to post for WIAW! Well I might be able to scrounge up a few for your viewing pleasure…but it won’t be my best WIAW work! Lo siento. November Girls Night – Thanksgiving themed Working lunch, only my first plate 😉 Since I didn’t have enough images to tantalize your taste buds, we’re going in a completely different direction… Heather over at Girl Goes Running nominated me for a Liebster Award! Thanks girl, they are silly, but I love answering these survey style questions. I think I did one of these almost a year ago. It really doesn’t…

    Vacation Blues

Aloha! Source Gah! Bittersweet…to say the least. I’m probably currently more bitter, than sweet. Ending a glorious 7 day vacation with my Ohana is heartbreaking. Okay, so I’m being slightly dramatic, but you get the gist. Do you ever get the vacation blues? I swear it’s a real thing. They start to set in on your last (full) day. Your heart gets a little heaver, your feet drag a little more, and B-A-M…you’re hit with the full blow vacation blues when you at the airport hoping and praying that your luggage does not surpass that damn 50lb mark on the scale. Your flight home is restless, because what awaits you…
